Waterloo Region experienced one of its slowest months for home sales in May over the past 15 years, but the consistent month-over-month improvement seen since the beginning of the year is a positive sign. Sales increased by 9.8% compared to April, while new listings saw a slight rise, indicating the market is gradually gaining momentum.

With a 4.0-month supply of inventory, Waterloo Region continues to be one of the more balanced markets across the areas served by Cornerstone. Additionally, average days on market have remained stable compared to last year, suggesting that competitively priced homes are still attracting buyers and selling within a reasonable timeframe.

It’s important to recognize that market conditions vary throughout the region. Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo, and the surrounding townships each have unique trends and opportunities. Whether buying or selling, working with a local REALTOR® who understands the distinct characteristics of each community remains key to making informed real estate decisions.
