We continued to see the housing market cool in November, with sales dropping nearly 15 percent compared to last year and prices adjusting in response. Although a seasonal slowdown is typical, reduced demand has pushed inventory levels higher than we’ve seen in quite some time—creating a real opportunity for first-time buyers. With more listings available and homes spending longer on the market, buyers can compare options more thoroughly and, with their REALTOR®’s guidance, negotiate from a stronger position. Given the Waterloo region’s appeal and easing interest rates, I’m optimistic that more buyers will feel confident stepping back into the market in the year ahead.
